The focus for these sessions is to prepare children and families for the next stage of learning. Teaching staff have designed sessions that will provide children with a glimpse of the school environment. Children will also get to become acquainted with staff, new peers and other students who already attend Dookie Primary School.
Foundation Entry Assessment
An initial assessment program for Foundation students is conducted during Term 1; on the first four Wednesdays of the term.
Families will be informed of their child’s individual testing time in the first few days of school.
During this four week assessment period, Foundation students will not attend school on the Wednesdays that they are not needed for testing; they will only attend school on the date provided for their set appointment time.
The interview takes approximately one hour in your child’s classroom. Parents/Carers may choose to wait for their child to complete the assessment or choose to drop off their child at their child’s classroom and return in 45 minutes.
All prep students are expected to attend the interview at the set appointment time. The interview provides valuable information for your child’s teacher and assists staff to plan for their individual learning needs.
