Snag and Share

The Dookie PS Snag and Share

Welcome BBQ at Dookie Primary School for our school community and the local community!

All Welcome!

We’re firing up the grill and kicking off the year in true Dookie style!

Join us for The Dookie PS Snag & Share – a relaxed afternoon to meet new families, reconnect with friends, and enjoy a classic snag in bread.

It’s also time for Snag, You’re It! (Welcome Edition) – because nothing says “welcome” like sauce on your shirt and a smile on your face!

During the evening, we’ll also be sharing a brief presentation of our 2026 school programs and presenting the DPS report to the community — a great opportunity to hear what’s ahead and celebrate all that’s happening at our school.

Bring your appetite, your camp chair, and your best BBQ banter. We can’t wait to see our school and local community come together for a fun, friendly sizzle.

Celebrating 150 Years of Education at Dookie Primary School

In 2025, Dookie Primary School proudly celebrates a remarkable milestone — 150 years of providing quality education to generations of children in the Dookie district. This sesquicentennial is not only a celebration of the longevity of a small rural school, but also an opportunity to reflect on the enduring values of community, connection, and learning that continue to define Dookie PS.

Throughout its long history, Dookie Primary School has played a central role in shaping the identity of the town. For many residents, the school is more than just a place of learning — it is a symbol of local pride and continuity. Countless Dookie families can trace their roots to the school, with multiple generations having walked the same grounds, sat in the same classrooms, and shared in the same spirit of belonging. Grandparents, parents, and now their children have all experienced the sense of support, care, and community that Dookie PS fosters.

Festeggiare l’Italia

This term, we have been learning to speak Italian and expanding our knowledge of Italian culture. To celebrate our progress and enthusiasm, we will hold a Festeggiare l’Italia day. On this special day, students will participate in various activities such as Italian language games, tasting traditional Italian foods, and exploring Italian art and music. This celebration will provide a fun and immersive experience, helping us appreciate the rich heritage of Italy while practicing our language skills.
